About Kim Hope

“Kim Hope took to the stage with an energy that some would find predatory if she wasn’t so damned nice. This sharp, engaging and fiery Aussie squeezed improvised laughs out of every corner of the room. Impossible not to like and, more importantly, very funny"

- The Laughing Jaabs Comedy Club, 2011

Kim Hope's combination of hysterical observations and physical humour has won her many fans in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, the US and the UK. Before relocating to London, Kim worked extensively in her native Australia as a stand-up comedian, actor, TV presenter and guest on many comedy panel shows, and also worked in radio as both segment presenter and co-host.

Following her televised performance in the 1998 Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Up Front, Kim became sought after for work on television and radio. She has toured extensively with the hugely successful Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow and as the support act for the enormously popular Puppetry of the Penis Australian tour, created her first solo show, Overexposed, in 1999 (later produced by the Hong Kong Fringe in 2002) and was the 2001 Moosehead Award recipient  for her second solo effort, Sing Your Arse Off!

After Kim’s performance in the 2003 Hobart Comedy Festival Big Finale, where she wowed the one thousand-strong audience at the Wrest Point Casino, she was invited to perform her solo show Lush for the H.C.F the following year. Lush was so well received that Kim was asked back to host the Big Finale in 2005. Her 2006 Edinburgh Fringe debut, Rollercoaster, was produced by the Gilded Balloon for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2007.

Life had other plans for Kim for a while, but with stories drawn from her experiences, embellished with an overactive imagination, and enhanced by her unique brand of physical humour and love for live performance, it was inevitable that she would eventually return to the comedy stage. This she did in April 2011, with a successful season at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, performing in She Says, He Says with Xavier Toby, Girl's Night and Comedy Club For Kids.

Kim is currently a regular on the UK stand-up circuit, recently performed in Bucharest and Croatia, and is in the process of creating a new solo adventure, Walk.
