Comedian. Show-Off. Blonde.

Having trained as an actor at the Victorian College of the Arts but rapidly becoming disillusioned with waiting on tables, Kim Hope took the plunge into stand-up comedy in late 1994. Finding her mix of physical humour, clever insights and hysterical observations much more suited to the stage than the world of hospitality, she quickly became a force to be reckoned with on the Australian live comedy circuit.

Following a breakthrough performance in the 1998 Melbourne Comedy Festival's all-female event Upfront, [which was also broadcast by the ABC network], Kim became sought after for work in radio and television, toured extensively with the hugely successful Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow and Puppetry of the Penis, created popular 1999 solo show Overexposed [which was produced by the Hong Kong Fringe in 2002] and Sing Your Arse Off! [which received a Moosehead Award in 2001]. After wowing a 1000-strong crowd at the Wrest Point Casino with her performance in the 2003 Hobart Comedy Festival Big Finale, Kim was asked back to perform her solo show, Lush, at the festival the following year. Lush was so well received she was immediately invited back to host the 2005 Big Finale.

Her collaboration with comedian Adam Richard has led to the hilarious shows Shame, Sassy and Outrageous!, as well as their appointment as hosts of MICF's enormously popular cringe-fest SuperStar Karaoke in 2003 - 04. It also led to the creation of 'Dixie, the Girl Who Has Everything', who made her first appearance as MC for Character Comedy at Glitch Bar and Cinema. Dixie was also seen hosting Character Comedy and and evening of SuperStar Karaoke in the 2005 MICF, as well as appearing at Upfront 11. When Dixie headed to London in June this year, Kim was obliged to follow. 'The Girl Who Has Everything' absconded with her wallet.
